Biography
Mystix is a Miami-born and raised multidisciplinary artist whose work moves fluidly between music, performance, DJ culture, visual art, and creative curation. Of African Cuban descent, her relationship with music began early, singing in school choirs for diplomats, competing in statewide competitions, and studying piano through years of lessons and recitals. That foundation eventually evolved into a life onstage, first as the lead vocalist of the band Das Phobia, which she named and fronted across Miami restaurants, nightclubs, festivals, and independent venues, and later as a solo artist known for moving between singing, melodic rap, DJing, and genre-fluid performance.
Over the years, Mystix has performed at venues and events including III Points, the International Noise Conference, Supercon, Club EVE, Ball & Chain, The Stage, Sunset Place, Churchill’s, The Next, Grand Central, and The Pit, while also appearing on FM radio and in gallery settings. Her performances continue to move beyond a single category, incorporating hybrid DJ sets, live vocals, melodic performance, and a wide-ranging approach to genre and sound.
Her work has increasingly expanded beyond her own performances and into the creation and curation of spaces for other artists. Mystix is the co-founder of Primitivo, alongside Traumatize, a Miami-based creative platform and event series that brings together music, visual art, DJ culture, performance, and independent creative work. Through Primitivo, the two have curated showcases, festivals, multidisciplinary events, and artist programming that bring together emerging talent with established voices from Miami's cultural history. Primitivo has hosted headlining performances featuring Rufftown Mob and members of the legendary Miami group Poison Clan, and its work has been featured by Miami New Times.
Education and mentorship have also become an important part of Mystix's creative practice. She teaches with Miami Girls Rock Camp and mentors emerging artists and musicians, sharing knowledge across music, performance, photography, videography, recording and production, marketing, networking, event curation, and promotional strategy. Her approach to teaching is rooted in participation, experimentation, and giving young and emerging creatives the perspective and tools to find their own way into the arts.
Whether performing, DJing, producing, curating an event, working behind a camera, or teaching the next generation of artists, Mystix's practice is defined by movement across disciplines. Her work reflects the layered musical and cultural landscape of Miami while continuing to create new connections between the city's artists, audiences, and creative spaces.
Performance
Mystix's performance practice moves between live music, DJing, electronic instrumentation, and immersive sound experiences. Her approach is intentionally fluid, drawing from her background as a vocalist and musician while continuing to explore new ways of performing, producing, and interacting with sound.
Her performances range from live presentations of her original music to hybrid DJ sets, electronic instrument performances, and experimental sound-based experiences. Across each format, Mystix brings an eclectic relationship with music while allowing the setting, audience, and energy of the space to shape the experience.
LIVE PERFORMANCE
Mystix performs selections from her original catalog live, incorporating an eclectic range of instruments throughout her performances. Her live sets highlight her work as a vocalist, songwriter, musician, and producer, with the possibility of incorporating guest artists and instrumentalists.
LIVE PERFORMANCE + DJ
A hybrid format combining live vocals, original music, electronic instrumentation, and DJing. Mystix moves between performing her own music and selecting music from across her eclectic musical influences, creating a fluid performance that can shift between live and recorded sound.
DJ
Mystix's DJ practice spans a wide range of genres, eras, and sounds. Her selections reflect her broad musical background and can move between different styles while maintaining a distinct sense of rhythm, atmosphere, and progression.
MODULAR ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT PERFORMANCE
A live electronic performance centered around synthesis, experimentation, and the physical interaction between performer and instrument.
Mystix incorporates an array of electronic instruments into her performances, allowing audiences to experience elements of her musical process in real time. The format can combine live vocals, electronic instrumentation, improvisation, and production.
MYSTIXAL SOUND HEALING MEDITATION
An immersive sound experience combining meditation with live synthesis, vinyl, voice, singing bowls, tuning forks, primitive instruments, and other acoustic and electronic sounds.
Mystix guides participants through meditation and listening exercises, using different forms of auditory stimulation to create an environment centered around sound, perception, and reflection. The experience can also incorporate interactive elements such as card pullings and audience participation.
SELECTED PERFORMANCE HISTORY
Mystix has performed throughout Miami's music and arts landscape, appearing at festivals, clubs, restaurants, galleries, radio stations, independent events, and experimental music spaces.

Booking
Mystix's sound draws from R&B, melodic rap, electronic music, punk, soul, and a wide range of influences that continue to evolve throughout her practice. Her ability to move across genres allows each performance to be shaped around the atmosphere, audience, and identity of the event or venue.
PERFORMANCE OPTIONS
Mystix is available for DJ, live performance, hybrid live + DJ, modular electronic instrument, and specialized sound meditation bookings. Performance formats can be adapted to the needs of the event, including the length of the set, instrumentation, and number of performers involved.
DJ BOOKINGS
DJ sets are curated specifically for each event, taking into consideration the venue's musical direction, audience, atmosphere, and preferred genres. Song requests and specific musical preferences can be discussed prior to the performance.
Mystix can connect to an existing venue sound system or provide her own speaker system when appropriate.
LIVE & SPECIALTY BOOKINGS
